MD.SAVE provides local Markdown, text, and HTML file opening and conversion, writing, recent change history, automatic file-name suggestions, preview and outline, optional local document and portability checking, recent conversion details, workspace and reading modes, copying, .md download, and file sharing on supported devices as a free public beta. The separately provided Chrome extension locally converts a webpage selection or current page body that you explicitly request, then downloads it or hands it to the MD.SAVE editor.
2. Optional Cloud Beta
Cloud Beta lets a user signed in with ChatGPT explicitly save Markdown and open it on another device. Sign-in is not required for local tools, and MD.SAVE does not automatically sync or save local documents. You are responsible for reviewing content and the filename before pressing the save button.
Default limits are 500 MB per account, 50 MB per file, 2,000 documents, 200 folders, and 500 tags. A file above the current safe editing boundary may be available only for storage, search, download, and deletion. If concurrent editing is detected, you must reopen the latest revision or save a separate copy.
Cloud Beta is experimental and does not guarantee permanent retention, uninterrupted availability, or backup recovery. Keep important documents separately as local .md files or a full export, and do not use Cloud as your only backup. Cloud writes may be paused for operational reasons while reading, download, and deletion remain available where reasonably possible.
3. Limits of document check
The checker covers a limited set of heading, link, image, HTML, code-fence, spacing, punctuation, duplicate-word, and bracket rules. Portability checks flag relative or local paths and selected compatibility risks, but do not make network requests to verify the existence or availability of links and external resources. Conversion details and preview do not guarantee complete source preservation or identical rendering in every Markdown tool, and are not a dictionary spelling checker, complete grammar correction, or professional review.
4. Your content and responsibility
You retain the rights to your content. You are responsible for ensuring it is lawful and does not infringe the rights of others, and for reviewing important documents before download, sharing, or use. You are responsible for the security and privacy of any destination selected in the device share menu.
5. Prohibited use
- Disrupting the service or sending excessive automated requests.
- Creating or distributing illegal or infringing content.
- Exploiting security weaknesses or bypassing access controls.
6. Availability and limitation
The public beta is provided as available and may be changed or suspended for maintenance, reliability, security, or operational reasons. Liability for data loss or indirect damages is limited to the extent permitted by law.
7. Changes and governing terms
