1. Information processed
The MD.SAVE application does not send or store your Markdown source, file name, or downloaded file on an operator-controlled server.
A local file you explicitly select or drop is read only inside your current browser. When you choose Copy all, your text is written to the current device clipboard and is not sent to the operator.
When you normally paste a web document, MD.SAVE reads the HTML and plain-text representations supplied by the browser only in the current tab and converts them to Markdown. Clipboard content is not sent to the operator, analytics, or an external conversion service and is not separately stored.
The hosting provider may process technical access records such as IP address, request time, and browser information under its own policies to provide and secure the site.
2. Settings stored on your device
Your theme preference is kept in browser local storage, while your language preference is kept in a first-party cookie. These settings may remain on the current device until you clear the site data in your browser.
On a first visit without a saved preference, MD.SAVE uses only the country code supplied by the hosting environment to show Korean in the Republic of Korea and English elsewhere. MD.SAVE does not separately store that country code.
Up to 20 recent document states are held only in the current tab's memory for undo and redo. Large documents may retain fewer steps to limit memory use. The states are not written to local storage and disappear when the tab is closed or reloaded.
3. Optional Chrome extension
The separately provided MD.SAVE Chrome extension reads only a webpage selection that you explicitly act on through its menu, toolbar button, or shortcut. Markdown conversion and direct download happen inside the browser and are not sent to the operator's server.
For Chrome Web Store disclosure, this selection is “website content” handled locally by the extension. The extension does not collect the whole page, browsing history, or background activity.
When you choose Edit in MD.SAVE, up to 2 MB of converted Markdown and a suggested file name are temporarily held in Chrome session storage. Only a random identifier—not your content—is added to the MD.SAVE URL. The temporary content is deleted immediately after import. After ten minutes it can no longer be imported and is removed on the next extension action or when the browser closes. The ask-before-saving preference remains only in that browser's local extension storage.
The extension uses the selected fragment only to provide the single feature described above. The operator does not sell it or use or transfer it for personalized advertising, credit assessment, or any unrelated purpose. Because it is not collected on an operator server, neither the operator nor another person can read the source. This use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy's Limited Use requirements.
4. Third parties and external checking
The operator does not provide your Markdown to third parties or call an external spelling or grammar API. The optional text check uses lightweight rules inside your browser.
5. Ads and analytics
The current version has no ads. It uses cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page usage and loading performance. The service reports dimensions such as page path, referrer, country, device and browser type, and performance timings without tracking visitors across different websites.
Your Markdown source, file name, clipboard content, and downloaded file are not sent as analytics data. Query strings and custom download events are not collected. See the Cloudflare Web Analytics overview for more information.
6. Deletion
Clear the editor or close the browser tab to remove your current input. Copying something else replaces clipboard content. Theme and language settings can be removed through your browser's site-data controls. Temporary Chrome extension imports are removed after a completed import or when the browser closes; removing the extension also removes its local settings.
